Food Resources Across Central Florida Helping Families Impacted by the SNAP Cut

With the government shutdown leading to interruptions in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits as of November 1, 2025, many families and individuals in Central Florida are facing a sudden increase in food insecurity. When assistance is delayed or reduced, access to regular, nutritious meals becomes an urgent concern.


If you’ve been impacted by the loss of SNAP benefits, it’s important to know that there are food resources throughout Central Florida that are stepping up to help.


Below are several organizations serving the region, ready to help those facing food insecurity due to the SNAP disruption.


Brevard County

South Brevard Sharing Center

Serving the southern portion of Brevard County, this pantry provides emergency groceries and essential items to families in need.

North Brevard Charities

Serving northern Brevard County, their food pantry is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.


The Salvation Army – North/Central Brevard

Open Tuesday–Friday from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., distributing canned goods, non-perishables, and perishables. Photo ID and household size needed.


Orlando Area


Pearlman Food Pantry (Jewish Family Services Orlando)

2100 Lee Rd., Winter Park, FL 32789 Open Monday–Thursday 9 a.m.–4 p.m., by appointment only for food assistance. They serve the Central Florida region and mention they’ve helped many who recently lost benefit assistance.
